Answer 1 :
Try contacting PriceWaterhouseCooper, they have training schemes.
Answer 2 :
i work for PriceWaterhouseCoopers. im also studying to become a chartered accountant. well if you go and do accounts you will get your masters or bachelors or which ever it is they now offer these days or you can do the other which is more of a direct direction for CIMA or ACCA. AAT is the building blocks and from there you can choose to do either CIMA or ACCA. seeing as you want to do chartered ACCA is the best choice. AAT comes in 3 stages. foundation (or certificate), intermediate (advanced certificate) & technician (higher ad. cert.) and when you reach the final stage is usually when you required to find a job and that is why i now work here. working also helps you coz it gives you experience and you can relate to your lessons and class work better. well good luck and you can find out more info on the web just google aat or acca. or contact a firm if you want
Answer 3 :
do your ACCA exams it is highly recognised. just logg on the their website for more information www.accaglobal.com

Does having a criminal conviction that is not spent bar you from registering to train as an accountant?

I have a criminal conviction from 5 years ago (related to drugs, not finance). I have since been to university and completed a business and economics degree. I have never committed a further offence and just want a chance to move on. Answer 1 :
No.My brother has a very similar story as yours and he works for a finance company and is a trained accountant.
Answer 2 :
Ask ACCA they will help.
Answer 3 :
no it shouldn't as all convictions after five years are spent i think the best bet is to be honest i don t see why it should as you are now trying to turn your life around good luck i hope you get a great job
Answer 4 :
Not at all, as it would be discriminatory. every one does deserve a chance, some areas of employment may have a legal clause preventing you from working with certain details or jobs due to criminal offences, but these should be mentioned during the application process including reasons why. Answer 1 :
There is no "best" choice. It is entirely dependent on YOUR personality, interests, and abilities etc.
Answer 2 :
It depends what you are looking for. If you are looking for fun, excitement and tension, become a lawyer. If you are not looking to be on the verge of a nervous breakdown, become an accountant
Answer 3 :
Ofcourse CPA or CA

Can a good accountant fake what type of job you do?

Can a good accountant fake what type of job you do?
I have been trying for months to get a Key workers job so that I can get a home through the key workers housing scheme. But seeing as it is so hard to get a key workers job I was wondering if it was possible for a account make it look like (In some sort of way) I am a key worker?. Just for a few months. Because I heard that the housing scheme needs proof that you are a Key Worker.

Answer 1 :
A good accountant can do many things. They run the risk of losing their credentials if caught though. You'd have to find one willing to do that.
Answer 2 :
Hi Dee, Well, my girlfeind was a "key worker", and had the use of a reasonable flat with a minimal rent. I really don't see the importance of an accountant in your position. Your qualifications, experience, and presentation should be enough to set you on your way. You can re-new your passport with "Occupation - Astronaut" What, pray tell has accountancy to do with it ? Bob
Answer 3 :
No, not if it isn't true. A good accountant would never resort to subterfuge anyway -- your few $$$ or £££ are not worth their career. The firm you work for will decide if you are a key worker, nobody else can or would even try.
