Does having a criminal conviction that is not spent bar you from registering to train as an accountant?
I have a criminal conviction from 5 years ago (related to drugs, not finance). I have since been to university and completed a business and economics degree. I have never committed a further offence and just want a chance to move on. I have a criminal conviction from 5 years ago for which i served a number of months in prison (related to drugs, not finance). No.My brother has a very similar story as yours and he works for a finance company and is a trained accountant.

no it shouldn't as all convictions after five years are spent i think the best bet is to be honest i don t see why it should as you are now trying to turn your life around good luck i hope you get a great job

Not at all, as it would be discriminatory. every one does deserve a chance, some areas of employment may have a legal clause preventing you from working with certain details or jobs due to criminal offences, but these should be mentioned during the application process including reasons why.
